TRAVEL, FIELD AND EXPEDITION PHOTOGRAPHY

PUBLISHED IN PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNALS

NOTES:  The following items were selected because they were first-hand accounts which discussed the activity and not just a listing of views.  Technical articles on outdoor photography and inventions have largely been ignored.  When specific photographs were not taken, or listed, the articles still provide an insight into the places recommended to photographers and/or technical information about travel photography.  Images were taken by non-residents of a region or suggested/recommended sites by locals.  Reviews of  travel photography have been omitted unless they contained either long first-hand quotes or at least gave the flavor of what an area was like to photograph.

Photographic trips for astronomical events have not been copied here – they are listed in a separate series.
